N : Ah... Nee Nee oioi..

M : Huh? Nee Nee oioi??

N : Ah... Papa chor gung buy milk milk, Nee Nee oioi. (smiling happily)

M : .... (Sigh)

Eastern Europe Trip Conclusion

Overall, both of us had plenty of fun, sweet memories and wonderful adventure during the entire trip. We also make new friends and keep in touch until today. And I always believe that keeping the sweet memories rather than pondering the bad ones will make me a better person. If family or friends ask me should they go for honeymoon, I will definitely say yes without a doubt. It would be the sweetest memory with your other half, and a perfect way to start your life journey together. The destination is not important, as everyone close to us knew that Eastern Europe is not our initial destination. The journey, from the moment we step out from our home into Uncle Wong's taxi going to airport all the way until we concluded the trip will always stay close in my heart. And finally, after close to three years, I finally able to conclude our honeymoon trip. Love you always dear.

Vienna 23 June - 24 June 2011

After three years after our honeymoon, I still have the perception that Vienna is the most unlikely city that I will ever recommend to family and friends to visit, save for the world-famous Sacher-Torte cake, swarovski crystal and classical music. And due to the high cost of living, we only managed to settle for a out skirt hotel, somewhere in the local housing neighbourhood. Anyway, there are many beautiful places to visit and if only the tour guide gave us more time at the Schonbrunn Palace, I would have taken plenty of photos of the surrounding places.

Budapest 22 June 2011

After a good rest and a sumptuous morning buffet, we started our sightseeing on Budapest. Today was the first time from Day 1 that we had to wear summer clothes as temperature was closed to 34 degree Celsius. Humid and hot indeed, something similar to KL and Singapore. Budapest is indeed a very historical city but perhaps due to the heat and sweating, we didn't take extra effort to venture out from the pack to do more sightseeing. 

The evening free and easy session was spent venturing inside their grocery market, tea break at one of the famous cafe and dinner at the open air restaurant (of course after the sun set). One of the most famous delicacy in Hungary is the traditional Hungarian goulash and beef is always the preferred choice of meat to make this dish. I tried the pork version during dinner yesterday but I always prefer to try the authentic local dishes so well, I ordered the beef version for my dinner. My verdict, not much difference. And, because of my eagerness and failure to control my temptation, I developed rashes all over my body (since I don't eat beef due to religion and belief). Once back to hotel, I took a quick shower, popped some vitamin C and quickly call it a day.

Krakow - Slovakia - Budapest 21 June 2011

The plan for today would be to take an optional tour to Wieliczka Salt Mine and then continue our road trip into Budapest via Slovakia. Since this was a optional tour, there were few of us who opted out and go for shopping instead (it will cost you 45Euro with and 40 Euro without elevator ride). From the beginning of our trip, both of us had decided since we had already paid close to RM 16,000.00 for this trip, why bother to save a few hundred bucks just to waste our previous time in a foreign land to go walking around in some hypermarkets and not fully appreciate the place and its surrounding? Out of three of the optional tours in the entire trip, we only opted out of one, the Mozart and Johann Strauss Concert in Vienna since both of us are not classical music fans. 

There's a beautiful park situated on top of Wieliczka Salt Mine, which is a underground mine. There are plenty of beautiful sculptures, halls and even hosted a Cathedral. The mine is very well preserved, and is listed under the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

After the Wieliczka Salt Mine tour, we continue with our road trip to Budapest via Slovakia. We were told we will only reach Budapest by sunset, however, due to road closure in parts of our original road, the bus driver had to detoured and subsequently get himself and all of us lost somewhere in the middle of no where. But, somehow, we ended up in a beautiful resort/ cafe around the highlands in Slovakia which is usually packed with people during winter but well, since we were there during spring, it was mostly empty and and serene. After the stop at the resort for our lunch, we continue our journey and we took another two more stops, one for afternoon tea and another to the wash room visit before finally arrived in Budapest some time after 8 pm. We went straight to the restaurant for our Hungarian folklore dinner and then check in into our hotel. For the first time during this trip, we had to sleep on two single size beds and the hotel is just decent, nothing to shout about and it actually looks old. Anyway, too tired to even think about it, just shower, watched the news on tv and then bedtime for us.
